A Becket native, Bobby Sweet began his performing career with his father’s band (Sweet Country Wine) at age seven. As a performer and sideman, he has shared the bill with many top country and folk artists, including Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, Martin Sexton, Waylon Jennings, Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger. In 2011, he was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest and has received honorable mentions from The UK Songwriting Contest, The Billboard Songwriting Contest and the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest. His songs have been featured on many hit television series such as Nashville, Touched by an Angel, Walker Texas Ranger and CSI. Stylistically, his music resides somewhere between Jackson Browne, John Prine and a countryfied Bruce Springsteen. An engaging storyteller, he is at home on any stage. He will perform with his band featuring pedal steel guitarist Pete Adams, keyboardist Abe Guthrie and vocalist Lara Tupper.
